Govinda was nominated twice for the IIFA Awards 2008 this weekend in Bangkok, Thailand. Both nominations for Partner in the categories "Performance in a Supporting Role (Male)" and "Performance in a Comic Role". The latter is the one he got the Award for. The movie Partner was also nominated for several Awards but did not win any other trophies besides Govinda's.

Complete List of Winners - including Rahman's fabulous music for Guru, Kareena's performance in Jab We Met and an Award for Irrfan in Life in a... Metro.
