After several movies together and a more or less failed attempt to bring them together for Shaadi Banayega, Subhash Ghai plans his next venture with Sanjay Dutt and Govinda. He has roped in Hadi Ali Abrar to direct the comedy. It's titled " Dil Mein Baji Guitar" so far. Asked when the movie would be going on floors, Ghai answered: "We are yet to finalize the female cast. Music will be either by Pritam or Sajid-Wajid. The film should go on floors in July this year." Govinda's date book is far beyond full then. After the pop album in the late 90s and several guest appearances in his movies as playback singer Govinda is going to sing a song again for upcoming Loot. The singing actor says, "Yes, I have sung a number for Loot. I am singing after a gap of nine years and I was attracted to this particular number because of it’s lyrical content. It has a nice, musical blend to it."
The music of Loot is being composed by Shamir Thandon, it is a slow song, a complete "Govinda song".

While I don't like the pop album too much, I am fascinated by most of Govinda's film playback songs. I can't wait to hear this one! The whole project is developing very nice!

From time to time we could read about Jagmohan Mundra wanting to remake The 40-Year-Old Virgin (originally with Steve Carell and Catherine Keener in the lead roles) in Hindi. It's been quiet about this rumor for some time, but it still seems to be on. An article from Rediff said: Meanwhile, Mundhra is getting ready with his films. He will direct a commercial film, with Govinda and Ayesha Takia. A comedy, the film will be about a person, who cannot interact with women socially. It is inspired from the film, The 40 Year Old Virgin.

In a recent interview with Rani Mukherjee on Masala.com about her forthcomming movie Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic (together with Saif Ali Khan) she was asked about working with Govinda again - and she's open towards working with him as it seems! Please all you directors out there do something to make this come true! Govinda is back in the movies. Are you looking forward to working with him again?There should be a good script that has to come our way. A director should think of pairing us together. If there is a good script and a good role I will surely like to be paired opposite him.Why are you working only with Yash Chopra and Sanjay Leela Bhansali?I am open to new directors and producers. In July 2007 a Bollywood-related project called " New Délire - Les Aventures d'un Indien dans le show-biz" released in cinemas in France. The idea was interesting though not new. Take an already exitisting movie, change the order of the scenes and add new sounds and dialogues to them. The victim was Sajan Chale Sasural with Govinda, Tabu and Karishma. After a long time this movie is finally avaible on DVD. You can watch some small trailers and clips from the new product on Youtube. The preview of the story of Money Hain To Honey Hain is finally out, we're definitely moving ahead now. It's slated for release on 1st of August at the moment right before the bigger release of Singh is Kinng and Bachna Ae Haseeno. Hope they stick to this date, it' better than nothing though this does not give MHTHH much space at the Box Office. So here's what I wanted to write about in the beginning. The storyline of the movie is out: This film deals with six individual characters. Bobby is a happy go lucky guy, who runs away from home to prove himself. Lalabhai becomes wealthy after his win of 1 crore rupees in lottery. But he’s back on the road as his business fails and he loses all his money. Gaurav, a copy writer is fired from his job. Manik is a struggling model who sleeps with a middle-aged fashion designer, hoping to make it big. Ashima Kapoor is a successful TV star but she’s not happy with her career and is desperate to do films as the lead heroine. Shruti is a struggling dress designer. One fine day, they all get an SMS informing them that they are the owners of a 1000 crore company. However, their happiness do not last long for their lawyer reveals that there’s a loan of 1200 crore on the company and they must repay it and until the loan is repaid, they would be kept under house arrest.

 Vivek Sharma, who has just made his directorial debut with Bhootnath this month, has signed Govinda for his next venture. Amitabh Bachchan starrer Bhootnath opened to mixed reviews and floped at the Box Office. Meanwhile Sharma plans to direct a new film - a romantic comedy multi-starrer - and has decided to work with Govinda. The new movie is believed to go on floors in October. The IIFA Awards 2008 in Bangkok, Thailand, are finally coming up. They'll be held on the weekend from the 6th to 8th of June in the Asian capital. Performances by Katrina Kaif, Govinda, Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, Harman Baweja, Shriya Saran, Zayed Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Ritesh Deshmukh and many others are expected. Karan Johar will host the show. Upcoming Amitabh Bachchan-Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwariya Rai Bachchan starrer Sarkar Raj directed by Ram Gopal Varma will celebrate its premiere at the first day of the Award function simultaneously with its release on the 6th of June in India. Besides his performance Govinda is nominated for Best Performance in a Supporting Role and Best Performance in a Comic Role in Partner for which he already got the Zee Cine Award 2008 earlier this year. Meanwhile Partner is also nominated for Best Picture, Best Direction and Salman Khan is nominated for his role as Best Leading Role (Male). As reported earlier on the blog, a new movie with Govinda and Ritesh is coming up, so far it has been called " Do Not Disturb". They will be working together with Lara Dutta and Sushmita Sen, Ranvir Shorey and Rajpal Yadav. Work starts on 15th of June. Ritesh is very excited about the project since Govinda is one of his idols.  Reema Sen who was last seen in Hindi cinema in Malamaal Weekly in Spring 2006 returns to the Bollywood screen soon with Chal Chala Chal. She'll be seen together with Govinda and Rajpal Yadav in this comedy which is going to be a remake of the Malayalam film Varavelpu. Crash landingSanta Cruz airport authorities refused to give permission for the shoot of Govinda's Chai Garam. The entire crew had to fly to Kolkata airport, which increased the film's budget by Rs 15 lakh.

While there's rumors about the Wedding Crashers remake with Govinda and Salman, yet two other movies seem to be in the making. One is part of the three film deal of Indian Film Company, titled Life Partner it is going to star Govinda, Fardeen and Tusshar Kapoor. And the writer of Rang De Basanti, Rensil D’Silva is working on a movie with Govinda, Ritesh, Lara and Sushmita. radiosargam reports that Salman and Govinda might soon be seen together again in an Indian version of Wedding Crashers (originally starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn). Warner Brother is said to have approached director Nikhil Advani (Kal Ho Naa Ho, Salaam-e-Ishq) for a remake of this movie. Review: Though I don’t like most of the actors from this movie I think that Paap Ko Jalaa… is a great movie and worth watching. This movie is why I am watching Bollywood movies! You can find all kind of different things here: romantic scenes that make your heart melt, action à la Bollywood (even a bit too violent in some scenes), nice music and a story revolving around family. The songs (e.g. Saathiya) are worth seeing! Especially Dharmendra was good in this movie - it’s not a movie centred on Govinda only. Paap Ko Jalaa won’t be at the top of my favourite movie list but it’s definitely a good one! Cast: Govinda, Sonam, Kader Khan, Gulshan Grover, Kiran Kumar, Satish Shah, …  Synopsis: Vicky (Govinda) is in love with Mona (Sonam) but he has no money to look after her and his mother. Finally he finds a job and works hard to earn money. While Vicky is out for dinner with Mona they get into a conflict with Monty’s gang (Satish Shah, Gulshan Grover). To solve the conflict Vicky tries to get the support of the police but he has to learn that they won’t help him since Don Nagpal, the boss of the gang, supports them with money. So Vicky decides to fight them on his own. 
Review: Apmaan Ki Aag isn’t special. It’s a good movie which serves all aspects of Bollywood perfectly. Love story, family, corrupted police and a hero who defends and defies them all. Govinda’s character gets surprisingly evil throughout the development of the story, the first and second half are strictly divided and quite different from each other. I did not recognize any real chemistry between Govinda and Sonam, she’s just too artificial. The songs were okay, some nice moves and fine sound.
